Our Story

The Phillips Foundation is a private family foundation started in 2017 by Anthony and Liz Phillips – founders of Camp Australia. Liz and Anth are lifelong educators and the TPF team bring diverse experiences and genuine commitment to lifelong learning.

TPF works in partnership with implementing organisations and mission aligned philanthropies to empower children and young people achieve their potential. All our partners are embedded and trusted by the communities they work with.

From establishment to Kesho Fund

Establishment

TPF was established by Liz and Anthony Phillips following the sale of Camp Australia, an education services business they founded in 1987.

2019
2019

Strategic Clarity

After 2 years of Discovery grant making, TPF formalised strategic partnerships in its Access to Education portfolio, including its first philanthropic investment in Lombok, Indonesia following the catastrophic earthquake.

2020

COVID Response

TPF commits unrestricted funding to partners impacted globally through the COVID 19 pandemic. Launches Living Ripples process focused on building children’s resilience and wellbeing.

2021

Learning Community Launch

TPF commences virtual convenings of philanthropic partners, cementing its role as convenor and catalyst of philanthropic partners.

2022

Outcomes Measurement

TPF launches its inaugural outcomes measurement framework. In collaboration with global strategic partners commences measuring to Hope, Life Satisfaction and Resilience of Children and Young People.

Healthy & Active Lifestyles

TPF formalises its approach to investing in healthy and active lifestyles, in partnership with group entities (Phillips Coaching and The Village Green), triangulating learnings back to positive impact with children and young person wellbeing and resilience.

Drowning Prevention

TPF launches Drowning Prevention strategy, working closely with communities globally and their responses to preventing unnecessary drownings.

International Collaboration

TPF invests in building collaborations with global philanthropies, becoming active members of Asia Philanthropy Circle, Global Impact Investing Network, and attending Spotlight Africa (Segal Family Foundation) at UNGA.
